My 9th grade year at animas high school has been a jar of creme brulee. If you’ve never eaten creme brulee, it’s a french dessert that consists of a sweet and rich custard that has a hard layer of caramelized sugar on top. When one eats creme brulee, they must first break through the hard caramelized sugar to experience the rich creme. In order for me to have a positive experience at animas, I had to break through the first layer of fear and doubt. By doing so, I was able to be creative and incorporate my passions in my schoolwork. I’m comparing the french delicacy, creme brulee, to my year at animas because they have become increasingly similar.
